Inmates

Interview with Girliegirl, Paul and Tyler

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Girliegirl: Yes, most of the women looked beat up and tired. A few of them didn't take showers, wash their hair or even wash their hands after using the bathroom. The lights were on all night long and they were very bright and one woman would yell all night long to dim the lights and finally they told her to shut the f*** up or they would turn her lights out. Once I asked what time it was and one girl asked "Why you got somewhere to be?" and they laughed about that one for days. The women tried to be tough but at night they would cry and beg to use the phone. We weren't allowed to.
Paul: most of them where easy to get along with.
Tyler: No, everyone seemed to get along. I did not witness any serious conflict.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Girliegirl: Keep to myself and don't look at anyone. Take my shower, brush my teeth and stay as far away as I could to anyone else. I'm a very talkative person but for days and days I didn't say a word to anyone.
Paul: pretty much kept to myself. no one really picked fights in the trustee area, we all got along.
Tyler: Nothing really. Everyone seemed to get along.

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Girliegirl: No
Paul: No
Tyler: No

If u get in trouble they send you to the tanks. The tanks being r1 thru 9 for weeks at a time. In there it is inevitable that u will at least get in to argument that could lead to a fight. I was a part of about 3 close calls and i witnessed alot over 13 days. Trust me.

I would also like to know how to put money in an inmates account. I purchased a money order. Can we just drop it off at the jail?

The "annex" is a section of the jail. I've never personally seen it, but from what i understand it's a "pod" set up wherein there are "pods" set up in an area. During the day, or certain hours inmates are allowed to move around a common area, then sleep in their designated "pods" at night.
